LYDIA HOFFNUNGSTHAL
In 1991, Lydia Hoffnungsthal graduated in Fine Art at the University of Design and Art in Cologne, Germany with a Laudatio. She has been among others a student of Jörg Immendorf. Her experience as a color designer for animation cartoons and its movements finds reflection till now in her art. Center of her creations is Mallorca, Spain. She has showcased her art in 13 solo shows & 80 group shows. Her works have been displayed at Art fairs like Art Cologne & Art Athina. The artist’s paintings light up with life and nature. The diverse & raw variety of materials which are collected by Lydia, find expression in her unlimited creative possibilities. A returning key in her art works is to promote solidarity and awareness by conveying human rights messages against persisting inequalities and various forms of oppression. Feelings, emotions and spontaneity are more important to Lydia than perfection, reason, and regimentation.
My stories are provocative collages, a rebellious expression of a return to the origins, as if an object & image were necessarily tied to the roots of our earth. Trees, flowers and the sea are priceless relationships, the power of life, that nobody should ever let go.
